welcome to catamouse cottage
Hello and thank you for considering Catamouse Cottage for your self-catering holiday in Pembrokeshire.
Originally a farm workers cottage, Catamouse came into our ownership when we purchased the farm in 2011. Having stood abandoned since the 1940's (and looking more than a little dishevelled!), we started work to renovate and extend the cottage in the autumn of 2020, finally completing its transformation in July 2022.
Our main aim was to retain the character of a traditional Pembrokeshire Cottage, to which end we have included some of the furnishings as they would have been, whilst incorporating the luxury of every modern convenience! We hope that it is now a homely, comfortable base from which to explore the spectacular Pembrokeshire countryside and award winning beaches.
Please enjoy the photo tour below and, if you have any questions, just ask!

walk through the cottage

At the heart of Catamouse Cottage is this inviting open plan living space. Traditional exposed beams, flagstone floors and a wood burning stove (complete with Victorian fire surround and bread oven), meld into a country style kitchen. . . retaining the charm of cottage living as it used to be, with discrete modern conveniences throughout. This is today's country living.
Underfloor heating warms the flagstones underfoot and means that using the wood burner is optional, but still wonderfully evocative, especially after dusk. Contemporary paintings by a local artist brighten the walls and comfortable sofas, arranged around the fire and flat screen TV, invite you to kick off your shoes and put up your feet at the end of the day with a cuppa or glass of wine. . . perhaps even two!

Country style kitchen. Despite the large number of gastro pubs and restaurants nearby, we know that many of our guests are great cooks who enjoy the experience, and convenience, of preparing their own food. To offer the best in self-catering accommodation, we have equipped the kitchen with everything that a home chef may require including; a fan oven, induction hob, microwave, a Belfast sink, butler's pantry and an integrated dishwasher. . . along with a large selection of super quality pots, pans and utensils. Look out for your Welcome basket of essentials (plus some surprise treats!), and there will be milk in the fridge.
The open plan layout of Catamouse Cottage means that dining-in can be a sociable and fun experience!
Catamouse Cottage accommodates up to four guests, plus an infant.

No need to argue over the master bedroom! The two half-panelled bedrooms at Catamouse Cottage are the same size, both have Kingsize beds, and each enjoys a view over the private walled garden. They were designed with one aim in mind, to create a luxurious and peaceful place to cosy down after a day's exploring.

Each luxury pocket sprung king-sized bed is made up with sumptuous white Egyptian cotton bedding, whilst the oak flooring is kept toasty warm by underfloor heating. Both bedrooms are furnished with wall mounted bedside reading lights, a flat screen TV, mirror with make-up shelf and, of course, enough storage space to keep everyone happy!
If you have an infant, we'll be happy to provide a travel cot and highchair on request, at no extra charge.

A luxurious Victorian style family bathroom. Whether you need a quick, refreshing, morning shower. . . or are in the mood for an indulgent, candle lit, bubbly soak in the freestanding roll top bath, we have it covered!
Catamouse' bathroom continues the traditional cottage theme, whilst benefitting from heated flagstone flooring, a steam resistant back lit mirror, and a large towel rail to dry and warm the fluffy towels or robes that we provide. Use the fully controllable lighting to match your mood; make the bathroom bright when it needs to be, or pretty and romantic when you run a bath, light a candle, put on some music and remember that you are on holiday. The perfect space to pamper yourself and relax.

The really functional utility room houses the freezer, washing machine, and offers the convenience of a second Belfast sink. It leads through to the boot room where you'll find plenty of coat hooks and space to store all of your outdoor gear, plus buckets & spades, wetsuits, life jackets, bodyboards and boots. . . which is, after all, what a boot room is for!
. . .and outside

The private walled garden at the rear of Catamouse Cottage, alongside our meadow, is totally enclosed and offers both privacy for you, and a safe haven for the little ones. Just beyond the scented lavender (that the butterflies and bees love) is a furnished patio area with its dining table, chairs, parasol and charcoal BBQ. Surrounded by climbing roses, to the soothing accompaniment of a tinkling water pump. . . it really is the perfect, relaxing, outdoor space.
A generous, six person, luxury hot tub is the undoubted highlight of our 'secret garden'! Constantly cleaned and permanently hot, this bubbling cauldron of relaxation, lit by twinkling lights hidden throughout the fairytale garden, is inviting all year round. . . even on the coldest of winter nights, sheltered from the weather by the oak gazebo.
Parking is not a problem. Catamouse Cottage has private, off road and gated, parking for up to 3 cars.
