...as seen on TV!

Can the kids find Dobby's Grave on Freshwater East beach?

It's hardly surprising that the infinitely varied coastline and landscapes of Pembrokeshire have attracted filmmakers from around the world. In past years, a number of productions have used our shores as filming locations for magical and memorable films.

Dobby's grave:  Somewhere, tucked away in the windswept dunes of Freshwater West Beach, is the grave of Dobby the Free Elf.  Yes muggles, see. . .  it is real!

A mecca for Potterers from all corners of the muggle world, 'Fresh West' is also the location of Shell Cottage in the film 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' (Parts 1 & 2).  Although Shell Cottage was removed after filming, you can still visit the heartbreaking scene of Dobby's final moments and his final resting place.  To protect the environment, Harry asks that you just take photographs and don't leave any more tributes.

His Dark Materials:  Anyone who was captivated by this visually stunning TV series will instantly recognise St Govan's Chapel as the hidden house (supposedly on a remote island in the German Ocean), where Mrs Coulter holds Lyra against her will!  Originally a medieval pilgrimage chapel, St Govan's Chapel is only accessible by steps from the clifftop and is open to the public, free of charge, all year round.  ///meatball.dome.blessing
